Shogi
The painting Shogi continues my Porcelain Objects series, moving away from realism toward abstraction. The cup is reduced to planes and dots, lending it an almost game-like dynamism. The title refers to Japanese chess, which resonates with the rhythmic background composed of simplified historical tiling from a Karlovy Vary house. Here, porcelain becomes a piece on the chessboard of time, where spa town tradition meets modern structure and strategically placed details.
