Still Life of Mgr. Kelly
The inspiration from Rudolfine Prague and the world of alchemy is palpable in this piece from 2016. Monochromatic brown tones emphasize the atmosphere of Edward Kelley’s laboratory, where mortars and flasks are not just ordinary objects, but tools for seeking hidden truths. Although it is a realistic study from an earlier period, in the painting Still Life of Mgr. Kelly, I was already subconsciously searching for order and balance between shapes—elements that I now deconstruct and reassemble in a completely new way.
