Nechranice Reservoir
I’ll be honest – I mainly go to Nechranice to catch fish. It’s an annual ritual with a group of friends at a place I truly love. While the reservoir near Chomutov is a technical marvel with its six-kilometer dam, for me, it’s primarily a fishing spot where time stands still.
But when you sit there for hours, staring at the surface and waiting for a bite, your mind starts to wander. My hand instinctively reaches for a pencil, and surreal visions and images begin to take shape on paper—things that would never occur to me back at a desk in the studio. This painting is exactly that: the result of stillness, focus on the fishing rod, and the infinite inspiration this water provides.
