Yellow Landing

The saturated, insatiable yellow of rapeseed fields. I love the color, but I know the burden it places on our landscape—what even children know. In recent years, rapeseed has overgrown here in the Czech Republic, overgrown not just ecologically, but also politically. This painting is my personal dilemma.

Landing within this aggressive yellow sea, however, is a dark green airplane folded from paper, precise origami. What does it mean? Is it a message delivered, fragile human intent, or just a game that lost its way and landed? This folded aircraft is a symbol for me of the fragility of our intentions in the face of an unchecked problem, yet simultaneously of that "mossy beauty" of geometry that it brings to the landscape. It is a quiet meeting of human construction and nature slowly overgrowing us, yet in the moment of landing, it brings hope for new understanding and dialogue.
