Sunset

With this painting, I am bringing my Sunset series to a close. Throughout the series, I have explored landscape, light, colour and the geometric simplification of the mountains.

The eagle appears once again as a motif of perspective and freedom. This time, it flies above the landscape as the sun disappears behind the mountains and the day comes to an end.

This is the final painting in the series. I wanted it to feel calmer and to focus only on what is essential – the landscape, the light and the eagle.
