Party on the Shores of Nechranice

Nechranice is more than just a reservoir to us; it’s the place where our group of friends returns every year for fishing and shared moments. But this painting belongs to one exceptional night—Hanka’s birthday celebration. I wanted to capture that exact moment when you feel the radiant warmth of the fire, hear the music, and the best laughter in the world, all while bats circle overhead.

Hanka and her husband, František, are no longer with us on the shore, but in my memories—and on this canvas—that party never ended. To me, it’s a celebration of a friendship that lasts, even as times change. Everything is there: the scent of wine, the calm surface of the water, and the feeling that we are all there together, exactly as it should be.
