Motorized Believers I

The inspiration for this painting came from the view directly out of my studio window near the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Horní Štěpanice. Every Sunday, a humorous paradox unfolds: believers, who once made a pilgrimage to church on foot, now arrive by car, filling the large parking lot right next to the cemetery. I assembled this entire scene on the canvas Motorized Believers using the tangram principle. From the figures and cars to the trees in the landscape – everything is composed of geometric pieces reflecting my perspective on how tradition gives way to modern convenience.
