Manneken Pis

This study for the painting Manneken Pis served as a search for the composition and color balance for the later final canvas. I deconstructed the iconic Brussels statue into the geometric language of tangram. In this form, the figure became a symbol of crisis for me—a reflection on the global events of the Covid-19 pandemic that profoundly affected and reshaped our world at the time.
