Lockdown

acrylic on canvas

from series Covid Diaries

A world that suddenly ground to a halt mid-stride. No planes in the sky, empty stations, and a haunting silence in streets that once pulsed with life. The painting Lockdown is my reflection on that strange time of darkness, when the borders of nations and our own lives were tightly sealed within mandatory quarantine.

I wanted to capture that weight, the emptiness of metropolises, and the sense of absolute paralysis. Hidden between the colors are fear, uncertainty, and questions for which we had no answers at the time. Was it real, or just some strange, orchestrated game? For me, this painting is a memento of the moment when the world as we knew it simply switched off, leaving us alone with our fears and silent despair.
