Giraffe

The Giraffe study is for me about its presence in nature, even when this nature is geometrically deconstructed. The giraffe, even though it is composed of hard, yellow tangram pieces, in my eyes does not lose its natural elegance. On the contrary, that simple geometry emphasizes it. That yellow form stands intrepid in the middle of a complex, pulsating background of red, green, and light green squares and triangles that form an abstract grid of wild nature. It is about the contrast between this simple, yellow figure and the complex, colorful world around it.
