Galaxy

In the piece Galaxy, I return to motifs from Ateliér JM Lesov. The central object is a teapot, whose white surface I have rendered as a fragmented structure resembling star maps or cracks in ice. The background consists of another variant of 14th-century historical tiling from Karlovy Vary, its circular ornaments evoking an infinite cosmic order. The prominent reflection on the dark surface adds depth to the composition and a sense that the object is floating in time and space.
