The painting Courtship at Full Moon captures the view directly from my studio in Horní Štěpanice. The night here is full of mysteries—bats fly overhead and the hoots of owls echo from the woods. As a fan of vampire horror movies, I sometimes experience that peculiar feeling of fear in the dark. It’s a bit ironic when, after 10 PM when the streetlights go out, I have to walk home with a headlamp on. I transformed these dreamlike and spooky moments into dark origami silhouettes courting under the breathtaking moonlight.
