In the study Check, I capture that tense moment when one final move remains in the game. It is a scene on the border between despair and hope. My tangram figure pushes through the rain, but holds a red umbrella like a shield—I see it as a silent act of resistance. The blue circle in the background resembles a hidden sun and signals a decisive moment in a game that is not yet lost. Sometimes, simply walking through the rain is a small victory in itself.
