12 Apostles

A study for the painting 12 Apostles, which has already been completed. It is about faith in anything – in God, in angels, in nature, or in oneself. I, too, have moments when I give thanks and pray. They are origami steamships. The stylized, softly flowing blue water and the sharp-cut, geometric white shapes upon it. They look a bit like origami boats, but more complex – like paper crowns floating on the surface. It fits beautifully with the idea of faith, quiet gratitude, and the journey of life.
