Faith in anything – in God, angels, nature, or oneself. The painting 12 Apostles is my personal meditation on the omnipresence of spirituality. There are moments of deep gratitude and prayer in my life as well, but my relationship with faith does not require an institution. I visit churches to admire the architecture and the Old Masters, for I believe that God can be found everywhere and in everything – in the landscape, in silence, and in the storm.
These twelve white boats, shaped in my characteristic origami style, represent twelve pilgrims or messengers. They sail across the restless surface of life, each carrying its own cargo of hope and conviction. They symbolize that faith is not a static object within a temple, but a dynamic journey that we encounter in various forms every single day.
