Impression

In the Impresse series, I work with the motif of flowers composed of Tangram pieces. I repeat the same geometric principle throughout the individual paintings, but each time I arrange it differently – changing the shapes of the flowers, their orientation, arrangement and color palette.

The color palette of the series is inspired by the colors found in the paintings of Auguste Renoir, whose use of color and light caught my interest. Each painting therefore has its own distinct color range – from earthy browns, ochres and terracotta tones to more vivid and contrasting combinations.

I am interested in how a single artistic principle can create a different composition and atmosphere each time.
