Spring – A Season of Hope
the way I see it
In spring, nature awakens, bringing with it a sense of new beginnings and rebirth. For me, this painting is more than just a color study – it’s an expression of the deep symbolism of hope and love, inspired by the daily observation of spring’s revival.
The composition of this piece is intentionally built around geometric origami forms. The yellow butterfly at the center represents transformation and the fragility of new life emerging. The blue structure from which the butterfly unfolds has sharp, stable edges, evoking a protective shell from which new life is born – a solid foundation of hope. The butterfly's bright yellow wings contrast sharply with the blue, symbolizing the opposition between light and darkness, life and stillness.
I used a vivid green background to symbolize spring growth, natural vitality, and the energy of new life. The green provides a sense of freshness and space, while the pinkish-red shapes surrounding the central figure bring dynamism, evoking the blossoming of flowers, as if everything around is bursting into life.
The use of contrasting colors and geometric shapes creates a certain visual tension, compelling the viewer to seek balance between stability and movement. In this composition, opposing forces intertwine – strength and delicacy, birth and transformation. I wanted the painting to evoke a sense of quiet yet vital energy radiating outward from the center.
For me, this painting is a manifestation of how spring affects not only the world around us but also our inner selves. It brings hope, love, and the promise of new beginnings.
