the way I see it
This painting stems from my fascination with the golden ratio and the work of Piet Mondrian, whose "geometric simplicity" remains an endless source of inspiration. The Mondrian-style background, constructed with precise calculations of the golden ratio, becomes a canvas for the story of two Native American figures composed of tangram shapes. One figure, larger and more prominent, is rendered in shimmering gold, symbolizing the wisdom and traditions of ancestors. The other, smaller and more humble, suggests a dialogue between generations – a passing of experience and understanding.
The harmony of the painting is accentuated by the contrast between matte and shimmering surfaces, while subtle shading adds spatial depth. "Voices of the Past" tells not only of the dialogue between two figures but also of the connection between cultures, traditions, and time.
