Series Life in Abstraction
the way I see it
In the third painting of this series, we encounter two dogs emerging from strikingly geometric shapes in contrasting hues of red, yellow, blue, and white. The golden dog symbolizes power and self-confidence, while the copper dog evokes a sense of calmer strength, perhaps even a certain humility. The composition is dominated by the dynamic tension between these two creatures, whose forms appear interconnected yet simultaneously compete for the viewer’s attention.
Playful references to 20th-century abstract art are evident not only in the use of vivid colors and the grid of black lines but also in the layered reliefs of the dogs themselves, highlighting their mutual confrontation and hierarchy. Through its expression, the painting opens a dialogue about superiority, dominance, and at the same time, the inherent fragility of every living being. It further raises questions as to whether our perception of rivalry between animals reflects human power relationships. The entire composition compels us to reflect on universal principles and symbols that seamlessly permeate both the human world and the animal realm.
